86 Eight Six Anime Episode 2 will be releasing this Saturday and we must say that this series got some Attack on Titan vibes. Episode 1 was pretty good and we were served too much information within a single episode.
Anyways, the episode was great both storywise and animation wise. The series is based on a light novel of the same name and the studio that is animating the series is A-1 Pictures with many hits on their list.
In the first episode, we saw the Republic of San Magnolia where 86 districts are present but 86 is considered as ruins and nobody cares about the people who live there and they are the fighters who fight on borders while the officers from other districts just order them.
The story follows Lena who is a commander in the San Mangolia army but symphathesises the people of district 86. While others consider them pigs and drones she considers them as humans. She was summoned by an Army General who is also his uncle and she was asked to take charge of a new unit.
She was going to assigned to Defense Line 1 also known as The Spearhead Squadron because the operating major was retiring. At first, she declines but later accepts the offer. Her uncle warns her about Undertaker and how he destroys its handlers.
Now the scene shifts to District 86 where units live like a family. They are the fighters who fight the enemy in drones. Also, they use all the real products while in the other 85 districts the food is packaged or created by artificial means.
At last the newly assigned major introduces herself to his new squad. Now how thing will work out and what is the mystery behind district 86 and why they are treated like this will be revealed in 86 Eight SIx Anime Episode 2.
